LittleFootprint™ Lighting, Santa Cruz, Calif., has announced its official designation as an e-Stewards® Enterprise. According to the company, it is the first e-Stewards Enterprise that makes products from recycled electronic waste, closing the loop on plastics from waste.“LittleFootprint Lighting was founded on a belief that we can make LED lighting more sustainable by using recycled plastic and steel to produce our made-in-U.S.A. desk lamps,” said Nancy Wahl-Scheurich, CEO of the company. “Earning designation as an e-Stewards Enterprise is a natural fit for us. We’re proud to play a dual role in fighting the e-waste crisis by not only recycling responsibly, but also using recycled e-waste to make sustainable products that are themselves recyclable.”
As an e-Stewards Enterprise, the company agrees to always make best efforts to work with e-Stewards recyclers, ensuring that its e-waste does not contribute to the global toxic waste crisis. E-Stewards recyclers undergo a professional audit annually to guarantee they do not export hazardous recycling byproducts to developing countries, use U.S. prison labor, or dump into municipal landfills. E-Stewards recyclers also ensure that private data is kept secure and that their business operations protect both workers and the environment.
LittleFootprint Lighting manufactures sustainably designed LED task lighting products that are made in the U.S. from recycled materials.
