Adept Technology chosen as robotics partner by Taiwan solar cell manufacturer

Adept Technology Inc., Pleasanton, Calif., a provider of intelligent vision-guided robotics and global robotics services, has announced it has partnered with Castec of Taiwan and Innovation Matrix of Santa Clara, Calif., to develop and integrate a vision-guided solar wafer unloading process for a solar wafer manufacturer in Taiwan.

The automated process includes the Adept Quattro™ parallel robot, which features a four-arm rotational platform. Its embedded amplifiers and compact controls help simplify installation and save workspace.

The process also includes the AdeptSight™ stand-alone vision guidance and inspection package, which runs on a PC and comes with all the necessary hardware and accessories.
