ACAT Global LLC, Los Angeles, has received approval from the County of Los Angeles for a $33 million allocation of recovery zone bonds for use in creating a large production facility in Southern California.
The company manufactures and markets catalytic converter substrate cores made of stainless steel-alloy foil. Using patented technology and relying on proprietary construction and assembly techniques, the company produces compact, lightweight catalytic monoliths for pollution reduction in combustion engine applications.
Following a private-activity bond sale, the company plans to begin upgrades to an existing manufacturing plant in early 2011. The new production facility is expected to create about 500 jobs.
