Electric punching center

Pivatic has introduced its new electric punching center for coil. The energy-efficient press is equipped with a high-speed CNC electric ram. It is suitable for use with embossing and forming tools. No hydraulic power pack is required, which the company says reduces noise level, maintenance, energy consumption, and floor space.

Standard thick turret tools (stations A to F) are set in easy-to-change cassettes, says the company, one on each side of the strip. Cassettes with varying tooling configurations are available for different applications and families of parts. Cassettes with CNC rotating tool attachments also are available.

Its 30-ton weight handles normal steel sheet up to 0.078 in. thick. The stroke is by linear servomotor. The equipment is programmable for punching, nibbling, embossing, and other forming applications.

Perforation, notching of large corners, and forming jobs can be carried out using a large, dedicated press tooling set in a second punching press. Cycle times are reduced, and jobs too large for the thick turret tools are completed in a single run. This electric press is available with 30 or 80 tons.
