Sustainable safety signage

February 17, 2011

Brady has introduced three new sustainable materials for safety and traffic signage for indoor and outdoor applications. All materials are available in 10- by 14-in. and 7- by 10-in. sizes.

B-586 paper signs are made of 10 percent postconsumer waste and are 100 percent recyclable. The stable, rigid paper material is 0.14 in. thick and appropriate for indoor applications.

B-563 plastic signs are made of 70 percent postconsumer waste and are 0.02 in. thick. They are designed to withstand outdoor conditions for three to five years, according to the company.

B-558 pressure-sensitive signs measure 0.004 in. thick and are made from 20 percent preconsumer waste. Featuring a permanent adhesive backing, the signs remain durable outdoors for three to five years.
