Solar-reflecting paints

Butler Manufacturing™ has announced that all Butler-Cote™ color finishes on wall and roof systems now have a Solar Reflectance Index (SRI) rating of 29 or greater.

The company says this latest feature offers Butler Builder® contractors a broad selection of energy-saving color options for roof and wall panels in the metal building industry and adds that the enhancement also complements the other inherent advantages of metal building systems for building programs designed to LEED® criteria or candidates for formal LEED certification by the U.S. Green Building Council.

The 15 standard paint finishes consist of full-strength, 70 percent Kynar500® or Hylar® 5000 resin-based fluoropolymer formulations.
