Orbus achieves ISO 14001:2004 recertification - Green Manufacturer

The Orbus Exhibit & Display Group, Bolingbrook, Ill., a manufacturer of modular exhibit and display products, met its 2011 ISO 14001:2004 environmental objectives and set new goals for 2012 in its continued effort to become more environmentally responsible.

In 2011 the company eliminated all use of foam packing materials; used 100 percent recycled plastic to manufacture OC-Hop and OCP-Elite tradeshow cases; used 50 percent recycled plastic to manufacture its OCS, OCL, and OCP tradeshow cases; and reused 100 percent of wooden pallets received from suppliers.

Orbus' 2012 objectives include:

  • Recycle 5 percent more pounds of plastics than in 2011 (28,000 lbs.).
  • Work with suppliers to decrease the use of cardboard containers.
  • Recycle all fabric waste (90,000 lbs. in 2011).
  • Recycle all aluminum waste (11,000 lbs. in 2011).
