Commercial insulation, protective coating

November 7, 2011

Industrial Nanotech Inc.’s Nansulate® Energy Protect™ clear thermal insulation and mold-resistant coating is manufactured to insulate and reduce energy use. The liquid coating is designed to increase thermal resistance of windows, walls, ceilings, and skylights in commercial buildings and facilities.

The coating can be used over surfaces without changing their look and also can be painted over with another water-based paint. On windows, the coating allows approximately 92 percent of visible light through and frosts windows for security. It can be used over many building surfaces such as brick, drywall, finished walls, wood, stucco, and concrete.

This nanotechnology-based coating is nontoxic, low odor, and low VOC and is applied with standard paint sprayers, rollers, or brushes. It insulates surfaces while also protecting them from mold growth, moisture, and UV light. It is suitable for indoor or outdoor use and can be used as retrofit insulation for older buildings and solid-wall construction. The average reported energy savings is 15 to 30 percent, states the company.
