HVLS fans

Serco has announced the launch of its new high-volume, low-speed (HVLS) fans. The fans move a massive column of air to create a deep, horizontal floor jet that circulates the air in large spaces.

The gentle, nondisruptive breeze created by the fans breaks the moisture-saturated boundary layer on the skin, providing an 8- to 10-degree cooling sensation. This allows facilities to raise thermostats in the summer months while maintaining worker comfort. In colder months, fans enable destratification of the facility by running in reverse to circulate the hot air trapped at ceiling level, so that heating systems can be run less often.

The Velocity™ series fan comes in several sizes and motor horsepowers, and the Velocity-PV is a 100 percent solar model for sustainability and additional energy efficiency. The smaller Tilt™ series fan is suitable where ceiling height or other obstructions are issues.
