LED retrofitting program

Quality Sign Co. has introduced a sign-retrofitting program to help customers achieve cost savings and reduce environmental impact.

Use of LED lights, which are powered by 12 V instead of 110 V, provide an estimated energy savings of 60 to 80 percent and an average two-year ROI, according to the company. The increased lifespan of LED lights helps minimize service frequency and maintenance requirements of the signs over the long term.

The company reports that some local or state government agencies may provide financial aid to companies for LED retrofits through the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant program administered by the U.S. Department of Energy.

The manufacturer also creates double-faced, LED-illuminated pylon signs using new lighting technology from GE.
