Waldmann's Lumatris uses light-forming technology to transform the light characteristics of LEDs into homogeneous wide-area lighting. This new technology is designed for optimal glare suppression and achieves a 30 percent increase in efficiency, claims the company, adding that a standard, built-in economy mode provides additional energy savings.
The luminaire can be switched to half or full power depending on the task at hand. For half power, every second LED is switched off. In contrast to dimming, this technique produces no hazardous stroboscopic effect and provides additional machine safety.
The product's LEDs have a color rendering index of Ra greater than 80, are maintenance-free with a lifespan of 50,000 hours or more, are flicker-free with no UV or IR component, and are fully functional after many on/off switchings.
The machine luminaire has a protection rating of IP68-1m and IPX9K. Its housing of anodized aluminum and 4-mm-thick safety glass makes it suitable for harsh environments. The luminaire has been tested for resistance to many types of coolants and lubricants. It provides burn protection because of its low surface temperature of 58 degrees C maximum. The housing itself is designed for high ambient temperatures up to 45 degrees C.
Because of its flat construction, the luminaire is suitable for built-in as well as external mounting. Different types of connections present numerous options for integrating the unit into a machine. The luminaire can be connected directly to 24 VDC without additional components. Additional mounting accessories, such as a swivel mount, are available for customized systems.
The intelligent electronics is protected against polarity reversal. Electrical connection can be on the side or rear and thus never gets in the way regardless of the type of mounting.Waldmann * 800-634-0007 * www.waldmannlighting.com
