Spectronics Corp. has introduced the Spectroline® TRITAN™ 365, an ultrahigh-intensity, multi-LED, broad-beam UV-A inspection lamp suitable for nondestructive testing (NDT) applications.
The lamp features three ultrahigh-flux UV-A LEDs for NDT inspection in addition to a white-light LED to illuminate dark areas. It produces a nominal, steady-state 365-nm intensity of 9,000 µW/cm2 at a distance of 15 in. This lamp meets MIL and ASTM intensity specifications for fluorescent penetrant inspection (FPI) and magnetic particle inspection (MPI).
The 16-oz. lamp is compact and lightweight. A three-way rocker switch allows the light source to be controlled easily, and the lightweight, angled lamp body ensures fatigue-free inspections, says the company. A push of a button turns the lamp on instantly at full power.
A rubber bumper with a Borofloat™ glass lens protects the LEDs from damage in high-risk situations. A built-in fan cools the LEDs, providing optimal light output during prolonged use. The lamp comes with either an 8-ft. or 20-ft. power cord with an AC plug. It is available in 120-V, 230-V, 240-V, and 100-V models.
Also available is a portable, battery-operated AC/DC lamp kit. In addition to the lamp are a rechargeable NiMH battery pack with adjustable shoulder strap and belt loop, AC cord set, smart AC charger, and UV-absorbing glasses, all packed in a padded carrying case.
