The Hydrokleen product line, recently updated by Hydro Engineering Inc., includes equipment for water filtration and recycling. The products are for use with wash rack systems to collect the wastewater and either filter it for discharge to the sewer or filter and recycle it and process it back into the wash process.
Each component in the line delivers results for a single task. Users can identify contaminants in their wastewater streams that are of concern and then pick the component required to reduce or eliminate that contaminant.
The primary solids filter collects dirt, sand, silt, clay, and gravel in a wash pad. The secondary solids filter removes free-floating or suspended solids with autoindexing bed filters, eliminating bag filters. The CMAUF-2 removes the suspended solids to 1 micron nominal.
Oil separation is handled with an active oil coalescing system. It collects free-floating oil and floats it to the surface, where it is skimmed and removed with a belt skimmer. Excess water is decanted back to the system.
Bioreactors consume organic material, reduce BOD/COD, and control odor. This moving-bed, self-cleaning bioreactor provides a noncorrosive method for bacteria control within the wash rack.
Water filtration is added that contains a target media to filter continuously the water of dissolved solids and emulsified oils. A PLC in this module monitors system activity. Heavy metals filtration is done with a second targeted media absorbing suspended metals.
