Applied Research Intl. (ARI) has added a three-axis motion platform, developed by Electropneumatics & Hydraulics and based on Baldor Electric Co.’s Ethernet-compatible drives, to its crane training simulator to allow the simulator’s replica operator cabin to move in sync with computer-generated images.
The three-axis motion platform provides X, Y, and Z movement of the replica operator cabin. The platform’s drive axes are required only to handle relatively simple motion control tasks, such as point-to-point moves and homing sequences, and do not require interpolation.
