As-needed cardboard packaging machine reduces waste, eliminates filler material

February 13, 2012

Automatic Packaging Machine

Packsize offers the EM7-25, a multipatented, automatic packaging machine designed to enable Right-sized Packaging on Demand™.

The machine handles complete box-making functionality, including longitudinal and transverse cutting, creasing, and perforation, as well as handles and holes. The system also supports reversed board feeding, which allows the machine to produce an infinite number of box designs and sizes.

Because boxes are produced on an as-needed basis in the size required, corrugated consumption and waste are reduced, and the need for filling material is eliminated. Optional equipment includes a bar code scanner, a dimensional scanner, conveyors, a Machine Manager interface for handling the entire packaging process, an automatic gluer, and a cassette changer to support up to 12 corrugated bales.

The system can produce boxes from a variety of corrugated cardboard types with widths from 10.63 to 94.49 in. and thicknesses from 0.08 to 0.31 in.
